President is standing for re-election. there is more than an even chance that he will win

Obama and his second Term

The US presidential election is due in 2012. Without doubt this is the most imortant election in the world, as the man os becomes the president of the USA will preside over the globe as a power broker. The United States is the most powerful nation with global reach. It also controls the monetary regime of the world and the dollar is the world standard for trade and commerce. The US President sits over the globe like Atlas.

President Obama is standing for re-election. It will be his second term if he is re-elected. After the 22nd amendment, the US Congress has limited a American to only 2 consecutive terms as president. Thus Obama who has already completed one term can run only for another term. Either he wins and becomes president for another term or he becomes a one term president and goes into history accordingly. Generally it has been seen that the incumbent president has more than a positive chance of getting a seconfd term. Thus Obama will enter the race with an advantage. In the last 65 years only 2 presidents failed to get elected for a second term. Thus the odds are stacked in Obama's favor.

One other factor going in favor of Obama is the weak candidates opposing him. Without going in for names and personalities, its safe to say that they lack the charisma and appeal of Obama. His opponents are resorting to personal attacks. Some have even labled him a communist out to destroy America. Nothing could be further from the truth. Obama is working hard on the economy and he has processed a subtle shift in foreign polcy. There is thus reason to surmise that Obama will be home and dry to don the mantle of the US president for another term.

After all is said and done, the right appears to be wrong yet again.

Madan, I am exhausted and I will just let this one pass. With only a few comments, this man has done nothing for our economy and more dislike Obama more than the media will say. Do they have yahoos on the right , they sure do but, they also have two yahoos running on the left, sadly. As far as being negative, geesh, Obama and his ilk do it, just as much as the other yahoos do. I am sick and tired of all of them! Thank you for sharing.:)

Thank you Cowboynextdoor, but the Indian astrologers have also predicted an Obama win. We have to wait and see.

The man the world hoped would establish peace and justice, where everybody would live in dignity, seemed to have been the one that changed and is now on the wrong side of History.

What happened to the charisma and openness and his desire for global peace that won him the Nobel?

It's so sad but like you said, he got no opposition so people got no choice. God bless Obama and heal America!

Obama has done so very much already which we don't hear about...making good all the multiple things that the Bushes, and all those rebs before him who took and took and took and never gave anything except to their cronies. They also brought this country into the terrible state it was when Mr. Obama took office. It is hard to believe that republicans cannot/will not and do not see what the people they put into power have done to this country and what the waves of oppression, destruction, poverty and greed emanating from these have done to other countries across the world. It is hard to believe that those people are so blind they do not see t anything those ignorant, greedy republican politicians are doing.
