This article analysis the form of Germany and their chances of winning in the upcoming euro cup.

Germany has always kept the traditional strength as a team that excels when playing in major tournaments with a well-attuned team.

While being described as an underdog for the WORLD CUP 2010 this time around they are quite high in the favourites list and will surely be vying to go one step more than the last EURO CUP with a cup.Despite playing a good tournament in last 3 major tournaments(world cup 2006 and 2010, euro 2008) they have stumbled in last stages and have ended in top 3 all the three times.

The best players for Germany are fit and will will surely be at an advantage against the injury-struck squad of Spain.The squad is a perfect blend of youth and experience.The likes of recent golden boot winners Miroslav Klose and Thomas Muller in the team and many top form players like Champions League highest scorer Mario Gomez, Real Madrid sensation Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira and experienced campaigners like Philipp Lahm,Per Mertesacker, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Lukas Padolski make this German squad a formidable one. Manuel Neur is in form of lifetime and will surely be very difficult to beat between the sticks.

The team is in great form right now and has lost only one game in last 12 months( friendly against France) and has qualified for the EURO CUP with a perfect record in all 10 games (only other team with a perfect record is Spain) and they are currently 2nd in FIFA rankings (behind Spain) and an Elo Ranking of 4th.

They will surely present a very stiff competition to the tournament favourites Spain.
But the team will surely face an stiff competition before the knockout round as they are placed in the group of death(Group B) along with contenders Portugal and Netherlands.

They will deploy the same attacking formation 4-2--3-1(2). The playing eleven will almost pick itself with no major surprises seen in Joachim Löw's provisional squad for the EURO CUP. Manuel Neur will surely be in between the sticks with defenders being Captain Phillip Lahm,Per Mertesacker, Jerome Boateng and Holger Badstuber.Midfield will consist of the evergreen Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira, Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller.For the attacker Joachim Löw will have choice between Miroslav Klose and Mario Gomez.

Historically Germany is one of the best teams in the world with 3 world cups, 3 euros ,12 semis in wc, 3 times runner-ups in euros and 4 times runner-ups in world cup and will surely like to add one more cup to this tally.

Germany will surely play with the same attacking mindset that they adapted in WORLD CUP 2010 and EURO CUP QUALIFIERS (scoring 16 and 34 goals respectively) and will surely be a threat at goals for the opposition.

Coming in the tournament in good form and with a fit and in-form squad the team will surely look to go all the way this time and lift the trophy in the finals.

Their first match is against Portugal on the 9th of June.
