Ex-press Secretary for Bill Clinton Hired by Facebook
Former press secretary for President Bill Clinton, Joe Lockhart, is joining Facebook to oversea the company's policy, international and corporated communications efforts.
His experience building and running a press office at the white house gives him particluar appreciation for the demands of a global 24-hour news cycle and the challenges of reponding effectively to intense scrutiniy.
Recently Facebook hired two former officials who worked for former president George W. Bush, including Joel Kaplan, who served as Bush's deputy chief of staff.
This move by facebook is a welcomed effect for its users. It shows Facebook's effort to improve on its privacy practices, because some privacy advocates are criticizing the way it treats users' personal information.
Facebook also plans to go public in 2012, that is IPO.
