A round up of current football transfer talk and rumours.
Latest paper talk
The major talking point currently is that of the destination for ROBIN VAN PERSIE. Just a week or so ago it seemed to be odds on that he was on his way to MANCHESTER CITY but it would appear now that the sky blues greatest rivals MANCHESTER UNITED could have become favourites for the signature of the golden boy. £30m is the suggested amount that will have to be stumped up by the successful bidder.
Current betting has MANCHESTER UNITED @ 11/8 faves, with MANCHESTER CITY joint 2nd favourites along with Italian giants JUVENTUS at 7/4. These three are a country mile ahead of any other club in the hunt so it would seem that VAN PERSIE will more than likely end up at one of the above.
LUKA MODRIC is causing a stir as it is suggested he was on the missing list yesterday trying to influence a quicker departure to his chosen destination REAL MADRID. At 1/4 it does not look like he will be going anywhere but.
WEST HAM seem to have fallen away in the race for ANDY CARROLL with the behemoth striker's previous club, NEWCASTLE 8/13 favourites to welcome him back to the Magpies.
Whispers and rumours
DIMITAR BERBATOV looks certain to be departing Old Trafford with MALAGA and BAYER LEVERKUSEN apparently leading the chase for the prolific Bulgarian. But whispers also that he could end up at NEWCASTLE if they can't secure the re-signing of CARROLL and also potential suitors are rumoured to be WIGAN ATHLETIC who are also being tagged with MICHAEL OWEN as they are the only club that could offer the mini marksman regular football. Stoke are still favourites for Owen's signature though at 5/4. Wigan also earmarked for the possible signing of not too long ago hot property ROQUE SANTA CRUZ.
Relegated WOLVES winger MATTHEW JARVIS rumoured to have been seen at Upton Park with WEST HAM looking to bolster their wide attacking options.
WEST HAM also rumoured to be re-signing flame haired centre back JAMES COLLINS from ASTON VILLA.
CHAMAKH looking very likely to be leaving ARSENAL with a 4 hour flight to Turkey being the destination to ply his trade with BESIKTAS.
Lastly, QPR possibly making yet another big signing by capturing the giant CHRIS SAMBA for a fee of approx. £4m.
