New inventions and discovery of technology as a long way to go , in reducing causalities of life when earthquake occurred. Earthquake occurrence and large sum of money invested on it, affect the global economy. We have waited too long for solutions, if nothing but reduce the loss of life.
A Magnitude of Loss When Earthquake Occurred
It is heart touching each time; I imagine the occurrence of earthquake in some part of the world. Are we asking ourselves the right question concerning the occurrence of earthquake in the world today?
Are we treating the occurrence of earthquake rightly, since the invention of instruments that can measure the intensity of earthquake, even though scientists have recorded hundreds of major earthquakes?
Some earthquakes had occurred far away where human being do not reside, this type of earthquake takes little or no coverage by the media but the situation is different when it occurs in a city and devastation is great.
Are we to start counting the loss of human life and properties since, the occurrence of earthquake on earth?
United Nation spends huge amount of fund on the issue of earthquake each time it occurs.
Based on the long history of major earthquakes shaking the earth, it is fair for us to expect more in the years to come.
The U.S. Geological survey puts it bluntly by stating: ‘large earthquakes would continue to occur just as they had in the past’
Yes, we all know earthquake occurrence is beyond human remedy and its remind us of man’s limitation but , does not stop us to act where we can, even though such disasters are beyond our control.
Government, organizations and volunteers group had been rendering assistance like sending relief materials, food, money and Red Cross organization to such country it occurred. I believe we can do more especially reducing causalities, even the large sum of money invested in it when it occurs as affected the world today. We are crying of economic meltdown, earthquake is directly or indirectly involve in it.
We can enforce strict building codes, and many strict measure can be adopted. The reason is to reduce loss of life.
Haiti experienced one of the worst earthquake in the history, in terms of loss of human life and property.
United Nation and other organizations are trying their best on this issue. We need to conduct more research; idea needs to be shared on new research and development in the area of find lasting solutions to this epidermic. For us to achieve great success, if nothing but reduce causalities in the event of occurrence in any part of the world.
This is a long term project. Facing the present and future occurrence of it now, lies in us. Let us not wait for it occurrence but prepare ourselves, do our homework without it occurrence. Let us key into this saying ‘God helps those who help themselves’.
If we can achieve result in other aspects of life, with God wisdom endowed on us, we can achieve success.
