It has been said that there is a fine line between love and hate, that is a true statement.
When he decided to go on a shooting rampage, Patrick Dell decided against killing his two biological children. After making threats to his deceased wife Natasha, a restraining order was issued against him. Patrick was the jealous type and followed the deceased everywhere she went, even threatening to send her to the morgue, a promise that he decided to make come true. Friends say that Natasha was convinced that one day Patrick would change his jealous ways, yet that did not seem to stop her from filing for a divorce against him. Along with Natasha, four children lost their lives, namely Daniel Barnett, Diane Barnett, Brian Barnett also Javon Nelson. When the dust had settled, Patrick turned the gun on himself.
“Love is a plant of heavenly origin. It is not unreasonable; it is not blind. It is pure and holy. But the passion of the natural heart is another thing altogether. While pure love will take God into all its plans, and will be in perfect harmony with the Spirit of God, passion will be headstrong, rash, unreasonable, defiant of all restraint, and will make the object of its choice an idol. In all the deportment of one who possesses true love, the grace of God will be shown. Modesty, simplicity, sincerity, morality, and religion will characterize every step toward an alliance in marriage. Those who are thus controlled will not be absorbed in each other's society, at a loss of interest in the prayer-meeting and the religious service. (Review & Herald - SEP.25,1888)
It has been said that there is a fine line between love and hate, that is a true statement. For whatever the reason, Patrick and Natasha lost whatever spark they had and surprise, surprise, Satan moves in to his life with enough jealousy to enrage him to take the lives of everything related to Natasha. What transpired here is sin of the vilest sort, where Patrick not only committed murder, but also took his own life. The end result was that Satan won and Patrick lost, a fact that is always evident if Jesus is not front and center in our lives.
