Killer Mom: Should She Get Away with an Insanity Plea?

My views on the mother who has killed her two children for as she said "mouthing off" to her.
Mother or Murderer?
In Tampa, Fl a 50 yr old mom who's been a sort of pillar in her community has now been arrested for killing her own two children. Most everyone who knew them figured that they were the perfect family for a long time but recently they had noticed some changes in Julie Powers Scheneker. It seems that the pressure of daily life and dealing with the kids had gotten the best of her and unlike most mothers who pick up a hobby or vent to other mothers, she decides to go on a killing spree.
The picture perfect family with the army intelligence officer husband and the Russian linguist mother was beginning to crumble. She was in a car crash and the officers who reported to the scene noted that she might be under the influence of drugs while her daughter also filed a complaint that she was beaten by her mother. It seems that though the picture of them on face book shows a happy, glowing and loving family in Christmas cheer the storm was already brewing.
Before you know it the police find Mrs. Scheneker on her front porch covered in blood and the children in the house. One of her two teen children was said to be shot in the car with a .38 caliber pistol a day before they had found her while the daughter was shot with the same gun while she was in her room studying on her computer. Now any other person who has done this would definitely get put away for life but since this is a military wife we are talking about and a female she can probably get away with an insanity plea.
That is just an outrage to me because if someone can be so cruel and callus to kill their own flesh and blood for as she said being mouthy they should get locked up and get the key thrown away. To commit this kind of horrible and heartless crime had to know what they were doing. I mean this is a 50 yr old intelligent woman who knows how things work. There is no way that she should be able to get away with a plea of insanity or diminished capacity at all because she knew enough to keep the body of her son hidden for a day before she got caught.
