Largest Protests Ever go Unreported in Mainstream Media

Governments are cracking down and interfering with the people's right to know. This is a frightening development which should concern all of us who value democracy.
News blackout
You may not know it, but some of the largest demonstrations ever seen are taking place presently in several locations around the world, and the reason you may not know about it is because governments from the U.K. to the U.S.A., from Brazil to Russia and a host of other nations, along with a compliant media, are making great efforts to make certain you stay uninformed. There has been a complete absence of information about these events coming from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox, MSNBC and even NPR.
Youtube caves to government pressure
Youtube is complying with requests from governments, particularly in the the U.K. and the U.S., to censor and remove videos of demonstrations. The latest example is Youtube's removal of footage of the British Constitution Group Lawful Rebellion protest, which attempted to civilly arrest Judge Michael Peake at Birkenhead county court. The British government simply does not want videos of such demonstrations to go viral.
Four hundred thousand demonstrators marched through the streets of Montreal recently, but there was virtually no mention of it in America's mainstream media. It was if it had never happened. Such censorship in a supposedly free society is extremely dangerous to the democratic process. When the media fails to report these events, we are well on the road to losing our freedom.

Very good information, Steve! Will dig a bit myself.
Have not lost our freedom? Mostly we have, I think, because we allowed it to happen.
But at ANY time we can get our freedom back at the snip of a finger!

I just checked bbc.co.uk typing in: "Montral protests" and they could only manage a slide show with 4 slides and captions!
This would be front page news normally since it's about education!
But front page news is about Pakistan. Hm.

Sad to say Steve but this is not new. The other thing is to reduce the estimates of size of the demonstration by 90%. One demonstration I recall had people joining it when the speeches (at the destination) lasting more than two hours had wrapped up. Everyone in the area agreed that there were more than a million people on the street, the police estimate "less than 100,000".

Also my father, who attended, told me it was the largest protest he had ever attended and he had been protesting for over 40 years.

Thank you Chrysolite, Jerry and Peter, for your comments. Yes, to not report these massive demonstrations is very revealing, as it shows these governments are very afraid of their people learning the truth. One of the photos above is of a demonstration in Mexico which drew over a million people two days ago, and as far as I can tell there was not a word of it on any of the networks.

I'm a staunch constitutionalist, Deborah, and I am in agreement with much of what Steve writes...I just choose to wage my battles on different fronts i.e. Second Amendment Rights.

Jerry, we need people fighting for our constitutional rights on many different fronts, and I applaud you for fighting for the rights most important to you, as they are also important to the rest of us.

Steve if we count all the things the media will not show that 'should' be news, then we would still be counting 1000 years from now. Nice read. Thank you for sharing.:)

Obviously the current system is breaking down and the bigwigs are dead afraid, hence they will do everything to remain in power as long as possible. I find the internet and Wikinut, of course, is a great way to raise awareness and so I shall go on doing just this.
Change always happens from the bottom up, so let's ... :)
