Another achievement
August 6 has left indelible memories in history. Nasa’s new Mars rover, Curiosity has touched the planet Mars on August 6, 2012. Sixty seven years ago, on the same day, August 6 the atomic bombing event wounded the soul of humanity. Learning from the past, let us hope for constructive achievements.
Another achievement has been added to the historical events of August 6. Man’s technology has touched the planet Mars. A long-time dream has become a reality, strengthening the hope that man can reach other planets. It is on this day that thousands mourn, commemorating another August 6 event that wounded the soul of humanity.
Man’s thirst to achieve
Man is always trying to achieve something--either good or bad. Only the later days can decide the consequences of his achievements. History has recorded so many events that have been good and bad for the existence of humanity.
Man’s technology has successfully landed on the Mars
August 6, 2012 has recorded the successful landing of NASA’s new Mars rover, Curiosity, on the surface of its new home on another planet, the Mars. It is, of course, a great achievement in the annals of human history. Within minutes after the landing, the first images have reached the earth from Curiosity’s cameras, showing pebbles, dust, and the shadow of the rover on the surface of Mars. This achievement has strengthened man’s hope of perfect execution, in spite of earlier failures. It was in 1996 that NASA announced that life may have existed on Mars. With perseverance and positive hope the dream of reaching a planet has come to life on August 6, 2012. At a total cost of 2.5 billion dollars, America has executed this, hoping for a better tomorrow of humanity.
August 6 events for a constructive future
Another August 6 event of human technology that stained human history
On August 6, 1945, the American B-29 bomber, named as “Little Boy” was dropped over the center part of Hiroshima city in Japan. It was the first atomic bomb used on an inhabited area, killing 140,000 people and mutilating every hope of humanity. That unfortunate event in history has filled everyone with the fear, “When will be the next bombing that is going to annihilate human existence?”
Mars in astrology
In the Roman astrology Mars is the symbol of war and bloodshed. Mars in India is called a red planet as it is known for its red color. It marks the hemoglobin of human blood and Mars is thought to be rich in iron because of its color. In the western astrologically, Mars is associated with confidence and self assertion, aggression, sexuality, energy, strength, ambition and impulsiveness and it generally governs physical activities. Both in the west and east, Mars is associated with Tuesday. In the east, Mars is considered to be ruled by the element fire, representing energy. In South India, Mars is called Tuesday and is considered to be unlucky for brides. Mars has negative influence in marital life.
August 6 events for a constructive future
Let us hope for constructive consequences from August 6 events. If man is selfish he will plan only to destroy everything. If man builds up constructive hopes, he can dream of a better future. Let us hope the August event lead humanity towards a prosperous future.
