New genre of ancient Humanity found.
A new southwest China find of the remains of possibly four individuals, all Stone Age people featured who it appears, an unusual mix of primitive and modern features, had darker skin and had a strong taste for venison.
The so-called Red Deer Cave People may indeed represent a new species of human, whose fossils - from two caves - appear to date to between 14,500 to 11,500 years ago, the oldest hominid remains younger than 100,000 years old, to have been found, of any species resembling homo sapiens in mainland East Asia
This new population of prehistoric humans, with skulls an unusual combination of primitive, modern and unique features, are like nothing ever seen before, with rounded brain cases - prominent brow ridges - short, flat faces with broad noses, and jutting jaws lacking human chins.,
With brains only moderately sized, these ancient humanoids had modern-looking frontal lobes, though short parietal lobes were primitive., They had large molar teeth, and as they lived in high sunshine areas and plenty of ultraviolet radiation, they were almost certainly dark-skinned.
At the moment, these mysterious humanoids have been dubbed Red Deer Cave people - one of the caves in which they were found so named - and clearly an animal popular with these individuals, there being clear evidence that they hunted and cooked these large deer.

Nearby modern humans must have been the last hunter-gatherers in this area, just starting out in making pots for storing food gathering rice. It seems that the mysterious tribe could have been a previously unknown early migration from Africa of modern humans, who never contributed genetically to modern humanity.
Australian National University School of Archaeology & Anthropology, spokesman commented that these new humans are clearly related to Homo sapiens, but by definition they a different species.
The Red Deer Cave people might possibly be linked to the Israel based Skhul/Qafzeh people and/or the mysterious Altai based Denisova, attempts to recover DNA possibly answering these and other questions that the researchers have posed.
