North Sea Oil Rig Evacuated Over Fear of Explosion
A North Sea oil and gas platform has been evacuated amid fears of a catastrophic explosion.
Are the times not trying to teach us something?
One hundred fifty miles off the coast of Aberdeen, Scotland, in the North Sea, an oil and gas platform owned by the French oil conglomerate Total has been completely evacuated and a wide "exclusion Zone" has been established around its perimeter. The Maritime and Coastguard Agency of the UK has ordered ships to stay at least two miles away from the platform as fears of a catastrophic "blow out" increase. The company, of course, contends "the situation is stable" even though they do not know the source of the leak causing the problem.
Environmental groups have warned about the inherent dangers of off shore oil and gas drilling in the North Sea. The Norwegian NGO Bellona has been monitoring the well in danger and its president and spokesman, Frederic Hauge, reported that "This is a gas blowout that is out of control and is going to be so for a long time.
This is a critical situation that is out of control."
Jake Malloy, a spokesman for the RMT Union which represents the interests of off-shore workers, agrees that this incident is the most serious since the 1988 Piper Alpha oil rig disaster which resulted in the deaths of 167 men.
Personally, I believe that the breaking down and disintegration of the old order is upon us as we see more and more evidence in the form of these types of events, and that we must completely reverse our course, which has us continuing to rape the planet from east to west and pole to pole. We simply cannot get away with it any longer. Might it be so that our Mother has begun to strike back, perhaps sending out her anti-bodies to heal herself, and if a few billion humans happen to be standing in the way of her healing...?
