List of athletes representing the Philippines in the 2012 London Olympics
2012 Philippine Olympic Team
The Philippines will be sending 11 athletes to participate in this year's summer Olympics in London. These athletes will begin their quest for the country's first gold, and a medal since the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
Hidilyn Diaz (Weightlifting) will be carrying the flag in the Parade of Nations. Joining her are :

Mark Barriga (Boxing)
Rachelle Anne Cabral (Archery)
Daniel Caluag (Cycling)
Rene Herrera (Athletics)
Tomohiko Hoshina (Judo)
Mark Javier (Archery)
Jessie Lacuna (Swimming)
Paul Brian Rosario (Shooting)
Marestella Torres (Athletics)
It is quite a surprise that only one Filipino boxer managed to qualify for the Olympics. Filipinos are known to produce good amateur boxers. Filipino boxers have won 5 out of the 9 medals the Philippines have in the Olympics. The Philippines now holds the record for having the most medals without a gold. Hopes are high that the Philippines won't be holding that record for long.
