Taylor Swift's latest single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" earned her the first ever Billboard Hot 100 #1 single of her career by selling 623, 000 downloads - only behind Flo Rida's "Right Round" which sold 636,000 downloads during it's debut. It also surpassed Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" that made her the female artist with the biggest digital sales week. It overtook lady Gaga's "Born This Way" as the fastest-selling digital single in history.

The single was released as the lead single from Swift's forthcoming album Red which is due October 22, 2012. Though it is not a country song, Swift also released an alternate version for the country radio.

Before this record, Swift only had Hot 100 #2 singles with "You Belong with Me" and "Today was a Fairytale." "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" also charted #1 in Canada Hot 100 and #13 in the US Hot Country Songs. The single has already reached the #1 position atop the iTunes charts in 32 countries.
