How about this for fulfilling the dream of ever writer out there? A completely empty book, other than the words on the title, has absolutely rocketed up the book best-seller charts, more copies being snapped up by an eager public than either The da Vinci Code by Dan Brown or Order of the Phoenix Harry Potter volume by J K Rowling.
What Every Man Thinks About Apart From Sex - written by 'Professor' Sheridan Simove reached an amazing 744th place on the amazon best-seller list, the book claiming to fully explain the male mind and it's mysterious workings.
The aim was to show clearly what it is, other than sex, which occupies male thoughts, this iconic text even recently featuring on Lorraine Kelly's ITV show, despite each of the 200 pages within the book being completely blank.
Author Simove claimed, tongue stuck very firmly in cheek, that the subject matter tackled had been thoroughly researched, many years of supposed hard work leading to the realization that men think of absolutely nothing apart from sex, yet this £4.69 journal has turned into a campus craze around the UK, students snapping them up to use for taking notes in lectures.
I do not know about you other scribes out there, but I am just full of admiration for the sheer cheek of it, and the foresight of the publishing company. Considering how hard it is to put a book together, and how much effort goes into it, you have to take your hat off to this cheeky chappie who realized his dream without needing to write a single word. Genius.
