The End of the World

According to some scientists, the world is supposed to end in the year 2012. There really is no scientific reason why, there is only historic reasons. It all has to do with the Mayans.
People of the World
A lot of us are starting to get more and more scared as the days fly by. We all know that there are specific facts about why the earth will end. Everytime a bad storm hits, we freak out because we think it is the opocolypse. Just because a few people that study history think the earth will end, doesn’t mean it truely will. I am not saying that I am absolutely positive it will not end, because I cannot see into the future. What I am saying, is that we base all of this nonsense on a calendar from hundreds of years ago.
The Mayans
The Mayans were said to be an intelligent race. They built temples and other ancient artifacts that we study today. Many scientists believe, for some reason, that everything they do symbolizes something. I don’t believe this to be true. Just because you think something that somebody does stands for something, doesn’t mean they were trying to make it seem that way.
We were all told that the end of the world will happen in December of 2012. It is supposed to end because of the Mayan Indian Calendar. The Mayans wrote and drew a long calendar along time ago, when they existed. The Mayans eventually all died off. Just recently, though, society discovered their old, ancient calendar. They noticed something that they thought to be significant. They noticed that the calendar’s last date drawn was December 21, 2012. This is believed to be the last day of the human race existence, because the Mayans didn’t draw anything after it.
Beliefs
Some people may think differently than I do, but this is my own interprutation of things. Others are also starting to connect religions with this date, saying that the Buddhist Wheel also stopped in 2012. I don’t know whether this has anything to do with this topic or not.
Really, if you think about it, nearly every year society comes up with significant dates that the world is suppose to end. For Example: 2000, 06/06/06, 2010, 11/11/11. Now, they just decided to pick one that relates to religions and society today. So, feel free to give your opinions in the comment space below, but this is what I believe to be true: The World Will Not End in 2012. The World Will End only if God wants it to. We cannot Predict what will Happen with Silly Dates like These.
