Commotion on 70
Something has caused no small stir off of 70 between Zumbehl and Harry St Truman exits. Traffic is stopped past 1st Capital going West.
Between one and two dozen police cars, both official and undercover vehicles, are parked along the highway and the service road with lights flashing. Though the traffic is stopped, there is no accident. A red convertible is stopped on 70 and empty. Several police are standing along the side of the road with tazers while others are getting rifles out of their trunks.
From all appearances, the driver of the red convertible (looks like some sort of 8-s or 90s model) was involved in a police chase. He stopped in the left lane, ditched the car, and disappeared into the brush. By the caution and armament of the police (and because they are not letting any traffic through), he must be armed and dangerous.
It looks like they have the brush area surrounded with no chance of him escaping unseen.
Although there is no obstruction on 70 east, traffic slows to 30ish mph as everyone looks to see what is happening.
