Cricket world cup 2011 is being played in 3 countries in Asia. The intensity and live amongst peoples across all Asian nations proves that Cricket can be a great peace maker between India and Pakistan and not war
India/Pakistan need to play Cricket than strike each other with missiles
.
Although India won the test by chasing an incredible 387 runs in the last innings, Cricket definitely was the real winner at the Chepauk grounds. At the end of the enthralling test we could be forgiven for not remembering that this cricket match might not have taken place at all had it not been for one Englishmen. When the terrorist struck in Mumbai on November 26, 2008, the English team cut short their stay in India and returned home. There was considerable doubt whether they would return back for the two test series, but after the board shifted the first test out of terrorist shaken Mumbai to Chennai, and security arrangements beefed up,only then the English agreed to return. Much of the credit for this decision goes to that Englishman – Captain Kevin Pietersen, who spoke of the need to stand “shoulder to shoulder with the Indian people in their time of need” and also convinced his teammates to do so especially good players like Flintoff and Harmison without whom the team would have been rather incomplete.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar scored the winning boundary which also give him his 41st Test century. English cricket commentator David Lloyd could be heard saying on the Neo Cricket TV channel “This is for Mumbai, this is for Mumbai”. That the winning runs were scored by the Little master from Mumbai only made the moment very special for all those who had been talking about the Mumbaikar’s spirit in the wake of 26/11. During the post match interview with a leading Indian commentator and an ex-player Ravi Shastri, Sachin dedicated the win to all those who had risked their lives to save others especially The National Security Guards, the Mumbai Police, the City’s fire service department and also the affected Hotel’s staff.
The way the match was played was a fitting answer to those who sought to spread terror and break the spirit of India. Even before the match had begun the City of Chennai got about collecting donations from various organisations but what was touching was the announcement of the English team that they would donate half of the match fees for the victims of the Mumbai terror which indeed was a fine gesture. And in spite of the stiffling security, a fair number of spectators came to witness the match. A day before that match ended ,Virender Sehwag’s batting display had 25,000 spectators cheering for him , besides the millions who were watching the T.V.

The Match will be remembered not only for the spirit in which it was played, it was also about excellent cricket.Over five days both the teams fought hard though it would be only too fair to say England had the upper hand on the match on all of first three and a half days. Though there was an excruciatingly slow passage of play by England in the session on the fourth day, but what turned the game on its head was a Sehwag special show – 83 from 68 balls- which perhaps was the turning point for India. Sachin Tendulkar, who has often been faulted for faltering in the fourth innings, exorcised past demons by scoring a heroic match-winning 103 not out.
This Match will be remembered in more ways than one. On the final day, Tendulkar along with Yuvraj Singh finished off the highest successful run chase in India. In the end , however, the result of the match was less important than the message it had sent out.As England coach Peter Moores put it, “Whoever wrote the script for the match wrote a perfect one for the Indian people in Mumbai” Yes This match in Chennai for Mumbaikar’s was special. But for India it was memorable, because it sent out a very strong signal. “India has arrived”
Now, once again at the World Cup Cricket in India, India scored 348 in Bangalore. England replied with 348 with the match ending in a tie. Once again, the winner was the game of cricket. It will not be a bad idea if India and Pakistan reach the finals for this edition of World cup. The winner could be anyone, but ultimately the great game of cricket will win. Therefore I will remind you once again....What a military strike can not do over Pakistan, Cricket can. THINK!
