Wikinut Pays!

Writing here for the past ten months, I have read, been read by and met many interesting folks. I never really expected any cash to come from it. Finally, a small deposit was received into my PayPal account. Once converted from British Pounds to US dollars, it netted me a grand total of $4.84.
Wonder of Wonders!
I was suspicious
Never thinking
It would pay
When suddenly
A note from PayPal
Came my way.
10 months and
194 pages later,
Wikinut paid
A whopping $4.84USD.
With a few exceptions
Like plague,
STDs,
Pain,
Prison time
and
Halitosis,
Some is better
Than
None at all.
The sum
Is not Princely
But it does tell me
That something
I suspected was broken
Works
In a manner
Of speaking.
One Big Mac
A pound of cherries,
One-half
Of a movie ticket,
484 shares
Of the latest
Penny stock.
My retirement date
Is not advanced!
If recreation
Is the goal.
Wikinut is a fine place
To post and read,
To meet and read
Some wonderfully
Creative people
On a web-based
Palette that is
Free of most
Customary
Restrictions,
Expectations of
Standards.
If earnings are
The priority,
It might be best
To foray elsewhere.

I've only got less than 3 pounds so far of earnings for all the effort I've done writing and promoting for wiki in the last 11 months.
At RedGage, I got 26 dollars in earnings in less than 2 months and still growing with comparatively less effort.
But what else is new at Wikinut? There must be the last straw.
And that might be this revelation, David. Useless to elaborate.....

I write for Helium now and made over two hundred dollars for 361 articles. I'm afraid I only pop into Wikinut now and again.

Congrats on your $4.84 !!!!! It pays to write :) Actually, a writers 'writes' they have no choice, so it is awesome when a few pennies trickle in. :)

I finally got paid a little last month. I have more views on Wikinut and less payment than anywhere else. I must admit, while I don't write for money, I'm becoming disillusioned here.

Congratulations, David. I laughed all the way through your poem. You have earned $4.84 more than I have received. I haven't looked up my earnings per month, so maybe it has stacked up without me knowing. If we don't collect, is it snatched back?

I'll hang on for a while yet... but the rewards DO seem rather trivial compared to the earnings available elsewhere .... BUT, it IS fun to write here!

Maybe they'll have to reformat. They just have to do away with inviting people to write here with the prospect of earning anything. They should dismantle the Stats page on which innocent people ogle at how much they earn. Away with that! The opposite is the effect. All writers here are the charitable institution for, or the milking cows of, the people running the site...lol. Unbelievable.

Many have said good bye to me at private messages, some requesting Wiki to delete their accounts to no avail. Something is very, veryyyyyy wroonngg hereeee indeed!!!!

I have received a total of 14 pounds.Compared to the views generated its pretty less. For all its faults Knowji generates over $ 20 in a month

I plan to hang on for another couple of months (perhaps, through the summer) to see what the 'flow' (if there is one) becomes. If there is no substantive increase in earnings, I'll be finished here as well.

Like David, I will hang in for a little while longer. I write for Helium and other sites where the pay is better. I like this site for the people and their response to articles.

Making money here, is almost like winning the lotery! Unfortunately, I love Wiki. I just love the way the sites set up.But I am looking around. I think I may have found my solution by finding a place that you can republish and still get paid-maybe twice.
