"Noah" shelter is a modern miniature version of Noah’s Ark biblical ship ready for Japan’s next tsunami.

We all know on March 11 tsunami devastated Japan’s northern coast, leaving nearly 20,000 people dead or missing. A Japanese company Cosmo Power has developed a floating capsule that looks like a huge tennis ball. This survival capsules is built to withstand in case Japan is hit by another massive earthquake and tsunami again. It is small enough to fit into an average Japanese home.

This “Noah” shelter is made of enhanced fiberglass which is four feet in diameter and can hold up to four adults inside. It has one glass window and two holes for drainage and ventilation. “Noah” shelters Interior are lined with cushions to help to absorb shocks. It weighs less and can be easily carried. It is stronger than steel. “Noah” shelter is painted in bright yellow color so that rescuers easily locate it. It has survived many crash tests.

While some may find this ridiculous, others will likely buy into it. It cost about $4,000 to build. They’ve sold 600 capsules already .It can also serve as a children’s playhouse house if there’s no tsunami coming in the near future.

The Noah shelter may offer people a peace of mind to those who are left many emotionally, physically and economically depleted by last year tsunami.”Noah” shelter could mean the difference between life and death in the case of another killer earthquake and tsunami.
