Eighty-five prisoners have escaped from a prison near the U.S. border, Friday (10 / 9). This becomes a challenge when the state of Mexico is battling of the influential's drug cartels.

85 Prisoners of Mexico, Fleeing

The prisoners mostly members of the cartel, climbed over the fence of the prison in the border town of Reynosa across from McAllen, Texas, on Friday morning. A spokesman for the Mexican attorney general's office in Reynosa, ensuring the inroad of the jail but refused to give details.

Police have arrested more than 40 prison guards and staffs who on duty when the men fled. "Two prison guards missing," said local radio and newspaper El Norte.

Inroad of the prison, following a scandal in July when the government found that prison officials had allowed some inmates out of prison to conduct revenge attacks before returning to their cells at night.

Mexican President Felipe Calderon, who has sent thousands of troops in the country, to combat drug gangs, promised to clean up the prison, which in the past has allowed a jailed drug kingpin, living in luxury or blurred.
