This article gives useful information for an interesting type of Gecko that uses his skin for protection.

What is Gecko

Gecko is a very interesting type of lizard that belongs to the Gekkota animal family. Scientists from Great Britain have decided to study them in 2014 next to the city of Darena in the North-East part of Madagascar.
The team has noticed that the larger lizard has caught another one smaller gecko and has tried to eat it. Several seconds later the smaller animal succeeded to pull out from the coming danger going out from his skin. The happy animal has flown in the air, hiding in the nearby stub.
The Geckos have developed the ability to “dress down” the biggest part of their skin when they are being caught. Their skin is covered with large flakes that have fall very easy when this is necessary. Usually these animals live on the trees and become active during the night time some scientists suggested that this function could be used as a protection from some kinds of night snakes. Actually, it’s being used against night Geckos.
The Gecko are not the only animal that takes its skin down for protection. Some kinds of mice also do it.

It's an interesting piece, but let me suggest to you that a shorter title would have been a catchier one.
