Anonymous Philippines hacked various micro-sites of the government website.

Yesterday night, 26th day of September, 2012, members of the group 'Anonymous Philippines' hacked various government micro-sites such as the,, and The purpose of hacking is to protest against the recently enacted law, which is the R.A. No. 10175 also known as 'Cybercrime Prevention Act' of 2012. According to the content, "the language of the bill is cunningly designed to made you think it only applies to individuals who are deep in cyber-technology ", that if the law will be read carefully, an ordinary social media user can be subjected for on-line libel by simply posting comments and pictures against any person, business, and organization which likely prevent the "freedom of expression".

The authors of the R.A. No. 10175 defend that they just brought the law to the online world which is known in various types of media. The Malacañang palace said that "the law must be seen by its whole.."

Other groups and organization that is against R.A. no 10175, formally filed a petition for the amendment of the law through the initiative of Atty. Jesus Jose M. Disini Jr., Director of Internet and Society Program of University of the Philippines. The petition strive to remove the provision of Section 8 4(c)(1-3) that implement the punishment for whoever found guilty by case; Section 12, which permit the NBI and PNP to collect traffic data and details of an electronic message using computer systems, which according to the group is against the 'Right of Privacy'.The group also request for the Supreme Court to file a Temporary Restraining Order of the said provisions.

The sites are now restored to its original content, However upon checking, certain links to electronic files of BSP issuances and publications remained unavailable.
