Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald contract negotiation news

On Thursday during an interview on a radio sports talk show in Arizona, Michael Bidwell who is the president of the Arizona Cardinals football team has stated his top priority to work out a deal with his wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald who has been with the team for 11 seasons.
Fitzgerald is scheduled to be paid $16 million in 2015 but the Cardinals management wants to reduce that amount since with the money they would not have to pay Fitzgerald they would be able to sign a free agent for the 2015 football season.
If Fitzgerald refuses to accept a pay cut that he would find it to be an insult to his market value, the Cardinals are likely to release him before the start of free agency in March. Bidwell is hoping that Fitzgerald will be able to reach an agreement how much money he should be paid to come back for his 12th season with the Cardinals. On the other side of the coin if Fitzgerald does not return to play for the Cardinals football team next season due to his refusal to accept a pay cut he would feel that he is being shortchanged, Fitzgerald will become a free agent and seek employment with another football team that will pay him his market value.
Time will tell if the Cardinals management can work out a salary agreement with Fitzgerald or will they be forced to say goodbye to one of their best players in the history of the franchise after 11 seasons before the start of the 2015 football season.
