Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown who is listed as the starting quarterback of the team will be starting his second game of the 2015 football season next Sunday when the Browns will host the Oakland Raiders.

Josh McCown will be the Browns starting quarterback in Week Three of the 2015 football season

Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine on Wednesday has named 36 year old Josh McCown as his starting quarterback. The Browns will be hosting the Oakland Raiders next Sunday afternoon at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Pettine believes that McCown who has 13 years of experience playing football in the National Football League gives his team a better chance of beating the Raiders next Sunday in Cleveland.
McCown suffered a concussion injury during the Browns 31-10 loss to the New York Jets during the first week of the 2015 football season. Johnny Manziel who is the second string quarterback of the Browns replaced McCown during the Jets game.
McCown was not given the green light to be the Browns starting quarterback in the second week of the 2015 football season by the medical staff of the National Football League.
Manziel replaced McCown as the Browns starting quarterback in the second week of the football season. Manziel led the Browns to a 28-14 win over the Tennessee Titans last Sunday in Cleveland.
Pettine said that McCown did win the starting job of the Cleveland Browns during the training camp sessions this year beating out Manziel who is in second year in the National Football League.
McCown is a 13 year veteran of the National Football League. McCown signed a three year contract with the Browns after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers released at the end of the 2014 football season.
Even though McCown is not known for being an elite quarterback in the National Football League, Pettine is confident that McCown will be able to remain the starting quarterback of the Browns throughout the 2015 football season.
It appears that Manziel will have to be content to be the backup quarterback behind McCown for the entire 2015 football season unless McCown suffers an injury or gets benched by Pettine for not giving his team a chance to win football games this year.
