A couple out for a stroll found a ton of money and knew they could not keep it.

Meet Barbara and Carlos Landeros

Barbara and Carlos Landeros left their Vallejo, California home on Valentine's Day and drove to the Golden Gate Bridge, where they set out on a romantic stroll, after which they were planning on a nice evening meal together. Walking across the bridge, Barbara looked down and spotted a black camera bag. Inside the bag she found a wallet, credit cards, and $1,000.00 in cash, along with a white envelope. Inside the envelope was $10,000.00 in 100-dollar bills. There was not a soul in sight to see that Barbara picked up the bag, and the couple could have easily absconded with all of it, but no such thought entered the Landeros' minds. They immediately drove to the central police station at San Francisco's Hall of Justice and turned the money in. The policeman who accepted the money said he was shocked.

Police soon located the owner of the bag, a Chinese tourist who had stopped with his family to take pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge and mistakenly left his camera bag sitting on the sidewalk. The family drove to Vallejo in an effort to thank Barbara and Carlos, but they were not home, so the family left them a handwritten note of thanks.

The incident cost the Landeros couple their romantic Valentine's day dinner, and they had to settle for a McDonald's meal across from the police station.

The Chinese tourist, however, has invited Barbara and Carlos to come to China, all expenses paid, and to stay with his family. The Landeros say they are seriously thinking about it.

Good for them. Doing the right thing is the right thing to do. I think we all need to remember what we would want done if we were the other person.

It is lovely to hear of such a good testimony , but it would be even better to hear that they went to China as well , as I feel they would be treated like royalty . I do hope they seriously take up the offer Steve.
Bless you
Stella
