Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has gone on the record stating his top priority to sign his current head coach Jason Garrett to a new contract. Garrett has been the head coach of the Cowboys since he was the interim head coach in 2010 before he was promoted to head coach in 2011.

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett seeking a new contract

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett current contract expired when the current football season ended on Sunday when the Cowboys lost to the Green Bay Packers in the National Football Conference Divisional Playoffs.
Garrett as a free agent can seek employment with another team in the National Football League team beside the Cowboys.
Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has stated on Monday his top priority is to sign Garrett to a new contract as soon as possible. Garrett has been the head coach of the Cowboys since he was the interim head coach in 2010. Garrett became the head coach of the Cowboys before the start of the 2011 football season.
The Cowboys in the 2014 football season won the National Football Conference for the first time since 2009. The Cowboys in the 2014 football season won the National Football Conference Wild Card Game versus the Detroit Lions before they lost to the Green Bay Packers in the National Football Conference Divisional Playoffs on Sunday.
Garrett wants to remain as the head coach of the Cowboys next year. It is very likely that Jones will grant him his wish to remain as the Cowboys head coach for years to come since Garrett has been able to get the team into the playoffs in his final year of his current contract.
The Cowboys management also has to sign to new contracts offensive coordinator Bill Callahan, passing game coordinator Scott Linehan and defensive coordinator Scott Linehan not to mention some of their key players like wide receiver Dez Bryant and running back DeMarco Murray who can become free agents.
Jones will have to make some choices which players and coaches he will keep on his team for next season. I am sure Garrett will be retained since the Cowboys appear to be playoff contenders for years to come with their current roster of players.

I hope that the Cowboys do sign Garrett as head coach for a while. It's to bad the Cowboys lost to the Packers.

The Cowboys did sign Garrett to a five year deal on Tuesday. In my opinion the Cowboys got robbed by the referees in Green Bay with the Dez Bryant catch that was overruled.

I agree with you that the Cowboys did get robbed with the over turned call. To me that was a catch.

Sad to say it was home field advantage for the Packers in this case.
