Free agent forward Amar'e Stoudemire will meet with the Miami Heat to seek employment

Amar'e Stoudemire, 32, who became a free agent on July 1, 2015 will be meeting with Miami Heat president Pat Riley on Thursday.
Stoudemire played basketball for the New York Knicks at the start of the 2014-15 basketball season before he was released by the Knicks in the middle of February 2015. The Dallas Mavericks signed Stoudemire four days later to play for their basketball team before his contract expired at the end of the 2014-15 basketball season.
Stoudemire started his career in the National Basketball Association as a first round pick of the Phoenix Suns in the 2002 National Basketball Association Draft out of Cypress Creek High School in Orlando Florida.
Stoudemire has played in the National Basketball Association for the Phoenix Suns from 2002-2010, the New York Knicks from 2010 through 2015 and the Dallas Mavericks in 2015.
Stoudemire if he can reached an agreement to play basketball with the Miami Heat would be playing for a veterans minimum salary for the next basketball season.
The Heat are interested in trading backup center Chris Andersen to another basketball team since the team cannot afford to pay Andersen's salary. Stoudemire who also can play the center position would be useful as a backup center on the Heat roster behind Hassan Whiteside.
Riley believes that Stoudemire would love to play for a team that should be in contention for a berth in the National Basketball Association Finals as the Eastern Conference representative next basketball season.
Stoudemire if he signs a contract with the Miami Heat would add some veteran leadership on the basketball team next year.
It remains to be seen if Stoudemire will be signing a contract with the Miami Heat or will be searching for employment with another basketball team that needs a veteran forward basketball player that is seeking his first National Basketball Association championship ring before he retires from playing basketball.
