How To lose weight and fat

Aerobic training is the best form of exercise to burn fat over strength training and bodybuilding, according to a study by researchers at the Medical Center at Duke University (USA), comparing aerobic training, resistance training and a combination of both and the results published on Saturday 'Journal of Applied Physiology'.

The researchers looked at 234 overweight or obese adults who were randomly assigned to one of three training groups: strength (three days a week of weight lifting, three games per day, 8-12 repetitions per set), Aerobic (about 12 miles per week) and a combination of both (three days a week, three per day, 8-12 repetitions per set for endurance training and about 12 miles per week of aerobic exercise).

Exercise sessions were supervised in order to accurately measure the adhesion between the participants, so that only 119 people completed the study, the complete data on body composition were analyzed to determine the effectiveness of each exercise regimen. The groups assigned to aerobic training and the combination of both lost more weight than those who did strength training only, which actually gained weight due to an increase in lean body mass.

Aerobic exercise also was a more effective method to lose body fat. In fact, the aerobic group spent an average of 133 minutes per week of training for weight loss, while the strength training group had to exercise for 180 minutes a week with no weight loss.

The combined exercise group, which requires twice the time, I always got a mixed result, and that training helped participants to lose weight and fat mass, but not significantly reduced body mass and fat mass in training aerobic. This group had a greater decrease in waist circumference, which can be attributed to the amount of time devoted to exercise.

"Maybe it's time to reconsider the conventional wisdom that strength training alone can induce changes in body mass or fat mass due to an increase in metabolism, since our study found no change,"
"Our study suggests that aerobic exercise is the best option for reducing fat mass and body mass. Not that resistance training is not good, it just was not very good at burning fat," .
