How does a car run on petrol and gas at the same time?

Using the wrong fuel nozzle can cost you several thousand dollars. For this reason ,the engine of a diesel vehicle that has been filled with petrol by accident should not be started. The only exception is when the amount is very small ,since petrol will mix with diesel.

PETROL WITH GAS

HOW TO USE FUEL TO A CAR

It is not usual for two different types of engine to function simultaneously in a vehicle, but they operate at different times. Non-nuclear submarines use diesel engine when running on the surface,But when underwater they are electrically powered, while motorised bicycles switch between electrical and pedal power. In cars ,the usual combinations are petrol and electricity or petrol and gas.

In the first case the vehicle always has two engines -one a petrol engine and the other an electric motor. In the second case ,a single engine is sufficient to deal with the switch-over between petrol and gas, although the engine has to be connected to two tanks .The standard four-stroke engine runs as well on petrol or alcohol mixed with air,as it does on gas, including biogas , natural gas or hydrogen . An ordinary vehicle can therefore be adapted for gas by the addition of a tank in the boot.Fine adjustment to the engine optimise its performance with different fuels.

WHY DOES PUTTING PETROL IN A DIESELTANK CAUSE DAMAGE

Using the wrong fuel nozzle can cost you several thousand dollars. For this reason ,the engine of a diesel vehicle that has been filled with petrol by accident should not be started. The only exception is when the amount is very small ,since petrol will mix with diesel

Petrol damages diesel engine works under extremely high pressure ,with the viscous diesel also serving to lubricate the sensitive fuel- injection system .Petrol ,on the other hand ,is not an effective lubricant ,and so the high -pressure pump and valves will wear out rapidly ,with the added risk that fine metal fragments will travel through the system and cause additional damage. The result will be a loud "hammering" from the engine ,which is very likely to be ruined. If there is a filling station error, it is therefore cheaper to have the vehicle towed away and professionally cleaned.pumping out the wrong fuel and cleaning the tank and all the pipes will only cost a few hundred dollars at most.

Yeah - this is my worst nightmare, picking up the wrong pump nozzle when filling up.
