Islamists had "Charlie Hebdo" has long been in sight

The magazine "Charlie Hebdo" has never come to terms with the fact that Mohammed and Islam should be excluded altogether from cartoons and satire. Among the twelve dead in the terrorist attack on the publishing house this Wednesday has now apparently also the publisher and Editor Stephane Charbonnier ("Charb") and the French comic artist "Cabu." This is the dramatic culmination of years of conflict.

"Charb" and "Cabu" stood for fear of Islamist attacks long been under police protection. Furthermore, one of the officers employed for this purpose should be among the dead. In September 2011, the publication of cartoons of Mohammed by "Charlie Hebdo" international worries triggered by an escalation. At the time, Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius had decided for fear of protests temporarily close after Friday prayers French embassies and schools in 20 predominantly Muslim countries.

The US government criticized at the time the "wisdom of the decision" to publish more cartoons of Mohammed in a tense situation. The French government sent then peculiarities of the police to protect the editorial offices of "Charlie Hebdo."

Because even 2 November 2011 an arson attack was perpetrated on the publishing house on the Boulevard Davout after the left satirical magazine published a special issue of "Sharia Hebdo." The fire attack was associated with a cartoon of Mohammed on the front page, but never fully understood.

New Houellebecq novel as a cover story

His latest release this Wednesday dedicated the magazine now the new novel "Soumission" (submission) of the French writer Michel Houellebecq, who is the seizure of power by Muslim ministers in France in 2022 describes.

The focus of the novel, the question of the decline of the decadent West and the ratio of the three religions Judaism, Islam and Christianity is another. He is only speeding the story of a possible development. The novel was published on Wednesday in France. In Germany, he comes on January 16 in the book trade.

Reprinted Danish cartoons of Mohammed

Back in 2006, was one of the few magazines Charlie Hebdo, which reprinted the cartoons of Mohammed from the Danish Jyllands-Posten The Federation of French Muslims (CFCM) complained against it, but in court the magazine was acquitted. Charlie Hebdo was repeatedly victims of hacking.

After the terrorist attack on these Wednesday French newspapers expressed immediately their solidarity with the satirical magazine: "The magazine has the support of all, including those which it critically overlooked because of his religious satire," said the chief editor of the widely circulated Christian weekly newspaper "La vies," Jerome Anciberro, on Wednesday the Catholic News Agency.

His newspaper had immediately sent a message of "absolute solidarity" to the editorial staff of "Charlie Hebdo" and their families. It was about the attack "as offended." He hoped, however, that France, the population, the media and politics in the face of such provocation their peace preserved.

I agree with you. But, you know one day all of those people are going to be accountable for their actions when they die and have to face the God Lord on judgement day.
