Thoughts on the second attempt to sentence the murderer.

Death penalty?

I was in the Phoenix area when Jody Arias was found guilty of murder. We actually drove past the courthouse and saw the press equipment, ready for the moment someone would come out and make a statement. I cannot be on the jury for the sentencing. I am utterly opposed to the death penalty. I sincerely hope that after the coming trial she will be put away where she can become a productive prisoner, rather than a dead body. I don't see the sense of proportion. A woman kills her boyfriend for jilting her and the sentence is the same as for mass murderers, serial killers, or cop-killers? In most of the world, murders between partners are treated with a type of understanding. Just being in a couple is an extenuating circumstance.
