Long summer months ahead

Summer time and in the UK the field are lush and green, something you don’t always to note of. It’s not often in the UK that we get long dry spells and fields go from lush green to brown. I’m currently in the USA, California and you can see the fields slowly turning brown because of the heat and the lack of rain water.

Last year here in California I didn't see it but this year with being out and about more I’ve noticed how the weather here takes its toll on the landscape. Turns the local fields for a green healthy colour to a brown, dead looking. The heat and lack of rain water.

I must admit I do love the weather here with days or weeks without rain and warm temperatures however I do know they really need rain and plenty of it.

I know the other week while I was back in the UK they had a thunderstorm here in California but before then it was weeks without rain. I guess the rain from storm gave the ground a light relieve from the dry.

The current weather here is high 70’s until middle of next week when we see 80’s and no rain in sight. Over the next 10 days there isn’t any rain forecast. When it does rain here in California I must say it’s nice, something I would never say in the UK when it doesn’t know when to stops when it starts to rain.

I hope it rains soon here and give the landscape I relief from the long dry spell however I can’t see that happening. With the onset of summer it’s only going to get worst, with fields and woodland being very dry which leads to other problems. With field and woodlands being dry there are damages of fires.

Is it dry where you live? Do you have plenty of rain? Are the fields where you live slowly going brown from lack of rain.

I live in Asia where the weather is hot, hotter and hottest! But it does rain for few months a year though.

Warm weather has its own advantages but we need consistent weather to have quality of life - siva

In East Texas we were in a bad drought for several long years. I live in a lake town so this was not good for us especially since we garden. The water bill was terrible. Now, it rains and rains this spring. Drought over.
