Bug on Firefox

Mozilla Firefox (known simply as Firefox) is a free and open-source. web browser developed by the Mozilla Foundation and its subsidiary, the Mozilla Corporation. Firefox is available for Windows, OS X and Linux operating systems, with its mobile versions available for Android and Firefox OS. It uses the Gecko layout engine to render web pages, which implements current and anticipated web standards.
Firefox was created in 2002, under the name "Phoenix" by the Mozilla community members who wanted a standalone browser rather than the Mozilla Application Suite bundle. Even during its beta phase, Firefox proved to be popular by its testers and was praised for its speed, security and add-ons compared with Microsoft's then-dominant Internet Explorer 6. Firefox was released in November 2004, and was highly successful with 60 million downloads within nine months, which was the first time that Internet Explorer's dominance was challenged. Firefox is considered the spiritual successor of Netscape Navigator, as the Mozilla Foundation was created by Netscape in 1998 before their acquisition by AOL.

Earlier this week, Mozilla warned by security researcher Cody Crews on Firefox security flaw. He said there are malicious advertisements on Russian news sites that exploit application's built-in PDF viewer in Firefox.

As a result, Firefox will look for sensitive files automatically on the software system. Afterwards, the files will be uploaded to the server allegedly Ukraine.
But do not worry on Tuesday (08/11/2015) from ZDNet, such exploits have been fixed in Firefox Firefox ESR 39.0.3 and 38.1.8.1. Firefox users are encouraged to immediately update its software.
"This bug comes from the interaction mechanism that separates JavaScript in Firefox PDF Viewer. This exploitation is able to inject JavaScript and allows the system looking at the same upload certain files," said Daniel Veditz form Mozilla security chief.
Because of this nasty bug only attacks bult-in PDF Firefox, the Firefox application that does not provide these features do not need to worry. Examples of Firefox for Android.Users still can maintain its Firefox version if you do not want to upgrade to a newer version.
In addition, Mac users also reported not affected by this bug is propaganda. However, Veditz still commemorate the possibility of security loopholes that would attack the Mac through other pathways that have not been identified.
"This exploitation does not leave traces that it has been operated on the user's system," said Veditz.
Even so, Mozilla claims the bug is not that easy to exploit software system users. Conditions of the user software must be weak to trigger the bug mechanism works.
