Police finds pot at flee market

Hartselle police were called to an indoor flea market and guess what was found. It wasn’t illegal spice but instead police found marijuana and now a Boaz Ms woman is in the Morgan County jail.
Saturday, October 29, someone told officers that a person with the Hartselle Indoor Flea Market was selling spice, which is illegal to possess or sell following an act of the Alabama Legislature this month. Hartsell police contacted the business owner Charlotte Montgomery, 58 of Boaz. She told police that she was not in possession and gave the officers permission to search behind the counter.
During the search, the police didn’t discover any spice, but came across three large glass jars that contained hydroponic marijuana. The Morgan County Drug and Task Force along with K-9’s were dispatched to the scene which led to more of the jarred contraband. They recovered more drug paraphernalia and digital scales in the suspect’s vehicle. The estimated street value of the marijuana is $3,000
Montgomery was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana first degree and unlawful possession of drugs. She is being held in the Morgan County Jail on a $2,800 bond.
