Running back Trent Richardson signs a two year deal with the Oakland Raiders

Former Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts running back Trent Richardson, 24, on Tuesday has signed a two year, $3.9 million dollar contract with the Oakland Raiders.
Richardson began his career in the National Football League as a first round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns in the 2012 National Football League Draft out of the University of Alabama.
Richardson played one full season with the Browns before he was traded to the Indianapolis Colts for the Colts first round draft pick in the 2014 National Football League Draft.
The Colts needed Richardson on their roster since running back Vick Ballard suffered an injury that placed him on the shelf for the entire football season. Richardson's performance with the Colts was not they expected from him as he was replaced as the starting running back by Donald Brown.
Richardson during the 2014 football season shared the running back duties with Ahmad Bradshaw before he was placed on the shelf during the Colts two playoff games for not participating in a walkthrough with his teammates before the American Football Conference playoff game since he claimed he do with an urgent matter with his family. Richardson did not tell the Colts management of his family emergency issue which did not amuse the Colts management team that one of their players did not tell them about his family issues.
The Colts management on Thursday decided that two seasons of having a football player that had a great career playing in the college football ranks was worth keeping on their roster.
The Tennessee Titans had interest in signing Richardson after he was released by the Colts before the Oakland Raiders needed a running back on their roster in 2015 since running back Maurice Jones-Drew decided to retire at the end of the 2014 football season and their other running back Darren McFadden decided to sign a two year, up to $5.85 million dollar contract with the Dallas Cowboys on March 13, 2015 as a free agent.
Richardson knows that the Raiders are probably his last chance toe earn a living playing in the National Football League in 2015.
The Raiders are currently in a rebuilding stage this year.
