After four months, protesters have been evicted from their encampment at St. Paul's Cathedral.

Evicted

Four months after they erected an encampment outside of St. Paul's Cathedral, Occupy London protesters have been evicted. Police in riot gear swooped down on the encampment yesterday, February 27th, and cleared the entire area, removing tents and arresting over twenty people who refused to decamp.

The City Of London Corporation commented that it "regretted" having to evict the protesters.

At one point a group of protesters chained themselves to pallets to prevent police from evicting them, but both they and their pallets were dragged away, and police also climbed a tree to drag down a branch-sitting protester.

The Reverend Giles Fraser, who resigned as canon chancellor of Saint Paul's in support of the protesters, said "This is a terrible day for the Church. In the past few months, we have all been made to examine important issues about social and economic justice and the role the cathedral can play. We are fulluy committed to continuing to promote these issues through our worship, teaching and institute."

I want Law and Order. I have loyalty towards the British police and loyalty toward the British citizens. Now it is hitting home! I have just read that civil war is threatened here, in the U.S.
