Some steps taken by Govt. of India to overcome from the damage of Jammu and kashmir Floods.

• Due to damage to Jammu-Srinagar Highway, the optical fibre cables of all the operators have been cut.
• Out of 12306 mobile towers in J&K 6811 were submerged. The government has restored working of 1208 mobile towers.
• All mobile phone operators have started providing 60 minutes/day free talk time to mobile subscribers in Kashmir Valley.
• Public Call Offices (PCO) has been set up at 11 places in Srinagar City.
• Roaming facility among various operators in J&K has been extended for another 15 days.
• Steps are being taken on war footing for restoration of telecommunication facilities in Jammu & Kashmir.
