When viewed from the type of photography products released by Sony.

RX1 is a camera that looks like a rangefinder camera.

One example is when Sony released the A7 and A7S, mirrorless camera with a full frame sensor is the first in the world equipped with autofocus. Examples of both are still a rumor, that Sony is reportedly making a new variant of the other full frame camera, RX1.

RX1 is a camera that looks like a rangefinder camera. Its full frame sensor resolution 24 megapixels, and is equipped with a Carl Zeiss lens Sonnar T * 35mm f / 2.

As reported by Sonyalpharumors, Friday (04/07/2014), in the new variants, the issue RX1 Sony will replace the sensor with a monochrome sensor. This means that the image produced by the camera is only black and white images.

Mean number of filters that are not required in monochrome sensor would be eliminated. By doing so, the resulting image will be sharper than the color sensor.

Leica already has a similar camera in its lineup. Based on their flagship rangefinder cameras, Leica M, the camera can only record images in black and white was named Leica M Monochrom. The price? USD 8,000, or approximately USD 95 million (without lens), while the Sony RX1 colored version costs 'only' USD 2800.
