The new direction of USA and Saudi Arabia relation would be set by both countries as the Spy Chief of Saudi Bandar Bin Sultan is not happy with how US responded in Syria war and Iran Nuclear program.

Saudi and US relations

Saudi is a petro dollar state and one of the huge oil producer in the world which makes them so special for the whole world especially for the super powers like USA and its allie. Back in 1900's US and Saudi relations became more strong when US feeled that after the world war II the balance of power is changed and the whole condition of world geography, economy and military wise was absolutely changed which forced US to make Saudi Arabia as their close friends and they did.

In the past Saudi Arabia did all so much things to make the friendship more strong with USA and they proved it many times like in Soviet War where they fully supported USA administration like producing mujahideens (terrorists) with the brand of Wahabi salafist who fought against USSR at that time and until now Saudi is the largest country who funding terrorists whether in Afghanistan or in Iraq whether in shape of Al-Qaeda or in shape of Taliba except they did all those things to build a trust with USA.

USA needs Saudi for its huge oil production and vice versa Saudi needs USA in regards of protecting him from his rivals countries like Iran, Iraq, Syria, lebanon, Israel.

Major Shift

Saudi Spy Chief stated: The shift away from the US is a major one," the source close to Saudi policy said. "Saudi doesn't want to find itself any longer in a situation where it is dependent.

Saudi Arabia is a close ally of USA in the middle east both the countries have great respect for each other but with the passage of time the friendship looks to be in danger as Bandar Bin Sultan threatened Barrack Obama Administrative that they will reconsider relations with United State of America.

Why the Spy Chief is not happy and why he suddenly said this: "This happens after the US failed to take any effective action on Syria and Palestine. Now you should know what was the reason behind this statement. It seems that Saudi establishment is not amused regarding USA attitude towards Bashar-al-Assad government because USA had planned and was stated officially about the launching of military strike against Syria but they failed to do it and therefore Bandar Bin Sultan criticized USA badly by not fulfill his promise. Hats off to Russian Federation President Vladmir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei lavrov who put all their efforts and had take a strong stance to stop USA by attacking on Syria and it is a game of politics you need to make somebody happy and somebody bereaved.

Moreover Saudi is worried that USA could welcome Iran proposal of talking about iran Nuclear program which is not acceptable for Saudi at any cost because Iran is their big enemy. Bandar Bin Sultan added: "Relations with the US have been deteriorating for a while, as Saudi feels that the US is growing closer with Iran and the US also failed to support Saudi during the Bahrain uprising."

Reminds me of the US relations with Iran when the Shah ruled. The US was hand in glove with him and after his ouster the USA is a pariah for Iran.
Something similar will happen in Saudi Arabia. The USA is backing a regime steeped in obscurantism and when it goes, which it will ultimately, the USA will be in the dog house. The USA should bring about change in Saudi Arabia. Why bother about a regime that is steeped in the 5th Century ?
