Basketball's appeal lies in the fact that it is a highly entertaining spectacle. Its players are unmatched by any other sport in terms of their sheer athleticism. Now, the Golden State Warriors have taken the sport's entertainment factor to a whole new level.

The Warriors wow!

Basketball, when played to virtual perfection, as the Golden State Warriors have done this season by winning a startling 26 games in a row to begin their year, is a thing of beauty, an unparalleled athletic dance that rivals the best of ballet.

As of this writing, their record stands, almost at the midpoint of the season, at 35 wins against only two losses, and every successive win establishes a new record.

The team is led by 27-year old Stephen Curry, who does things with the round ball no one else has done before or since. Not only is he the greatest pure shooter in the history of the game, but no superlatives can describe his dribbling and passing skills. He simply must be seen to be believed.

Curry's supporting cast starts with Klay Thompson

Steph Curry's backcourt mate is Klay Thompson, whose shooting skills nearly match his own. Together, the pair are nicknamed "The Slash Brothers." Thompson holds the National Basketball Association all-time record for points scored in one quarter of play - 37! During infrequent times when Curry cools off, Thompson can take over a game, scoring buckets in bunches. While Curry leads the league in three-point shooting, Thomson is third in the league.

Draymond Green

Draymond Green, a power forward who also plays center in the "small ball" Warriors lineup, is this year's leader in "triple-doubles," when a player scores, assists other baskets and rebounds in double figures. He is a dangerous three-point shooter as well, and he is arguably the best defensive player in the entire league.

The other players

Harrison Barnes and Andrew Bogut round out the starting five. Barnes has all-around skills to add to the Warrior mix, and Bogut is a gifted passer, rebounder and dunker of the basketball. Andre Igoudala comes off the bench as sixth man. Igoudala spent his entire eleven-year career prior to last season as a starter, but coach Steve Kerr talked him into assuming the sixth man role last year, and it turned out to be a brilliant move, as Igoudala walked off with the Most Valuable Player award in the NBA finals last year against LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers.

Frankly, this is a meaningless article if you don't take the opportunity to view the videos I have posted here. If you do, I think you will agree with me that the Golden State Warriors, in terms of sheer entertainment value, surpass even the legendary Harlem Globetrotters.

Steve , i definitely agrees with your article even before you end up the last paragraph about Harlem Globetrotter legend. Tru to tell, GSW especially with Steph is finally "rebooting" the game into the exact lovely hoops and shoot all year round sports "we" grown up to. Basketball was my first love even before I even memorized my arithmetic and eventuall learn how pre destined physical trait I inherited from my genes and DNA makeup can spell doom to my chances of dunking the ball on the right age and stage. When i was 8 yrs old upto 13 i play rain or shine and easily knew my shootng pulse and passing can make up my lack of formidable height. The 80s change it all untill recently that I finally realized somebody can play our dream shootng prowess and magical assist can make the game interestingly away from giants who guard the painted area. Thank you Steve for this article and more power to the Golden State Warriors for reliving the old age little boys dreams.
