The Human Limitations of Barack Obama

This is an article based on the expectations of people in America and around the world of Barack Obama. Expectations that are very unrealistic for anyone to have of another human being, especially of an American president who requires approval from both House and Senate in order to get anything done.

The Human Limitations of Barack Obama

"Enlighten the people generally, and tyranny and oppression of body and mind will vanish like evil spirits..." Thomas Jefferson
Not since Jesus Christ came to this earth has there been such illusionary expectation of an individual-in this instance, a human individual. In the eyes of many people, Obama is supposed to deliver what no other earthly human being can. It is questionable if even God can meet this expectation.
He is adored to the point of obsession by those who love him, hated to the point of destruction by those who feel contempt for him and can't accept that that there is a black man in this very white house, and assigned delusionary expectations from those around the world looking for a saviour from their hopelessness and despair.. It goes without saying that no one human being could satisfy or live up to any of these expectations.
Those who love him simply cannot seem to accept any failure or human error from him.. He is placed on a pedestal and treated as one who has the ability to walk on water. It is constantly said, "oh, I thought he was going to unite the country". It seems like he should do this all by himself, without cooperation from anyone.

His Supporters

His toughest audience is his die-hard supporters who have certain images of him in their minds and who moan and groan incessantly when he does anything to deviate from their outlook. Case in point, Move-On.Org, one of his strongest allies, went so far as to campaign against his Syria plan. They just couldn't align this war-talking Obama with the former anti-war senator so many people worked very hard to put into office.
Around the world, international pressure for democracy has increased and in many countries populations are hungry for democratic legitimization and stability. Many of these people hailed Obama's presidency with great delusionary expectations, most of them looking for a saviour from their hopelessness and despair.
For so many, he was seen as the "messiah" with he authority to command their leaders to bring them the equal rights and justice they demand. Problems that had plagued their nations seemingly forever, they expected he should wave a magic wand and make it disappear immediately- this is from friends and enemies alike

His Enemies

Obama's enemies form three different bodies: his Republican opposition, those from his own race who refuse to give him a pass on anything and a very complicit media who spends as much time in the day as they can, gleefully telling everyone how inefficient and ineffectual he is as a leader
Much like the Republicans, there are those in the black community who criticize anything Obama Does. Being the first black president, all the needs that have not been met for hundred of years, he and he alone, with no help from anyone, should rectify. And even though they have given every other president a pass, now things they conveniently did not see then, is so visible to them now that before he says or does anything, he gets criticized- he is criticized before he gives a speech, while he is giving a speech and every network has a panel criticizing when he is finished.

Republican Recalcitrance

On the right, he is hated to the point where his Republican opponents can't seem to see straight. They have taken an oath to say and do nothing to work with him, making it impossible to get anything done. And so on a daily basis, he is faced with childish recalcitrance from a bunch of grown bullies who would do anything , even ruin their country in the process, to see him not succeed. Case in point -the government shutdown. For people who profess to be so concerned about budget and deficit, they don't seem to care that the country is losing over a hundred million dollars and more on a daily basis.
He is cursed with a complicit media who delights in bringing Republicans on the daily talk shows to brag about their non-cooperative attitude and who's favorite line is, "well the president says he wants to get things done, but we know the Republicans are not going to agree with this". After all, who can forget Maureen Dowd's piece?

Endorsing Bullying Tactics

"It's unbelievable that with 90% of Americans on his side, he could only get 54 votes in the senate. It is a glaring example of his weakness in using leverage to get what he wants. No one on Capitol Hill is scared of him. Instead of the pitbull legislative aides in Aaron Sorkin's movies, Obama has Miguel Rodriguez, an arm-twister so genteel that Washington Post's Phillip Rucker wrote recently that no one in congress even knows who he is. Obama is supposed to be father to these lawmakers and maybe spank them when they misbehave. Maureen Dowd would be better served giving cooperation advice to the Republicans and not advocating for the schoolyard bully. If you start advocating for these bullies, what message are you sending to young people

Godlike Feat

And so, coupled with all the negativity and the American public seeming indifference to what is going on, Obama presses on, still succeeding in creating jobs and making much improvements in the economy. He gets no help from the Republicans and sometimes one wonders if the average person is taking notice of the fact that these people are doing nothing to help bring the country back from the brink. If they are taking notice, they would race to the polls, doing their best to get them out of office. For although Obama is not God and is very much human, his ability to deal with all this negativity sometimes seems like a godlike feat.

The Republicans made a huge mistake pushing their extreme social platform instead of looking for moderation.

The opposition has sabotage the Obama Presidency since day one. It is amazing he has done what he has up to now. But the tragedy is what has not been done to help American citizens because of president's opposition intolerance and ignorance.

When the Republicans lose, they throw a hand-grenade into the room and hope that, when the debris settles, they'll somehow be back in power. I, for one, am sick of people who will manipulate our lives and livelihoods for their political and financial gain.

Oh for crying out loud!! Does anyone actually think the Democrats have not had similar strategy meetings to plan how to defeat the Republicans. I imagine the losing party has one every inauguration.

America was what they sought to sabatoge. In seeking to torpedo Obama, they knew that they were attacking America more effectively that the Taliban. If America suffered, then so be it, if it satisfied their addiction to and lust for power. The Taliban's objective in the same time period, has been to attack America by attacking it's economy. Their intention is one and the same.

The wasted energy the president's enemies have used spent fighting Obama and the Democrats could have been used to fix AMERICA. What a waste their opposition has been to this country, the American people and the world. Shame

There's nothing wrong with trying to beat your opponant but what the Republicans have forgotten is that after the elections legislators should pull together for the good of the American people--working together to compromise.

These guys are the racists, it's always on their mind and in their dialogue, they have never been able to produce any evidence to support his "opinion" which demonstrates my point someone is the one that only sees Black when he sees Obama.

Democrats, for the most part, continue to be the racist party. Sorry you dimwitted troll but your history is set. And your history is racism. And your future is racism. Get used to it. And if you don't like racism then you will have to leave that godless soulless Democrat party far behind.

Last week, President Barack Obama gathered some of his top advisers in the Oval Office to discuss the problem-plagued rollout of his health care legislation. He told his team the administration had to own up to the fact that there were no excuses for not having the health care website ready to operate on Day One.

The United States is loosening controls over military exports, in a shift that former U.S. officials and human rights advocates say could increase the flow of American-made military parts to the world’s conflicts and make it harder to enforce arms sanctions.

Rightly said John. Critics, including some who’ve worked on enforcing arms export laws, say the changes could undermine efforts to prevent arms smuggling to Iran and others.
