Modi for long was an untouchable, but now the USA is going overboard to woo him

USA and Modi

The United States of America under pressure from Indian hard liners and the Congress Party had denied a visa to Narendra Modi, on the ground that he had engineered the riots of 2002. But all investigative agencies and the Supreme Court cleared Modi of any culpability. Frankly I don’t think he was ever involved, but propaganda by the Congress party made him a culprit.
Now Modi is on the upswing and a “Modi Wave” is flowing across the country. This is reflected in the win of the BJP in the 2014 election catapulting Modi as India’s Prime Minister. The USA has realized its mistake and the US Ambassador to India Ms Nancy sought a meeting with Modi. But Obama felt she had delayed meeting Modi and she was given marching orders. A new Indian origin ambassador is now appointed to India. Earlier a string of US business men met Modi also. The US would like to be on the right side of Modi. Times change very fast
Modi visited the USA after becoming Prime Minister and both Congress and Obama gave him a lions welcome. His reception at Madison avenue was simply fantastic and he behaved as a star. No Indian prime Minister has so far been ever received so warmly in Washington. Obama did the unthinkable and attended India’s republic day military parade. He was the chief guest on 26 January 15 and vibe very well with Narendra Modi. I cannot recollect if any other American president has ever attended a military parade of another nation. All this shows that the USA realized its mistake and is courting Modi now as it wants a strategic partnership with India. It also wants the fruits of an economic spill over, with the fastest growing economy in the world. If Obama succeeds the USA will have an access to an Indian market of 1.2 billion people. No wonder Obama is courting Modi. Best of luck to him
