UFC 126 will be another incredible fight card. Anderson Silva and Vito Belfort will top off the evening competing for the UFC Middleweight Championship. UFC 126 will be on PPV on February 5th and will air from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV. UFC 126 is full of incredible matchups that will keep you entertained for the whole evening. Get your party together or drive to your local sports bar to watch this incredible event. Remember UFC 126 will air on Feb 5th which is the night before the 2011 Super Bowl.
The Main Event: The UFC Middleweight Championship Fight
Anderson “The Spider” Silva vs. Vitor Belfort for the UFC Middleweight Championship
Anderson Silva has not lost in the UFC, he is 12-0 including a miracle submission against Chael Sonnen at UFC 117 near the end of the fifth and final round. Anderson Silva was injured and has not fought since last August, Chael Sonnen tested positive for elevated testosterone levels at the end of the fight. Anderson Silva took more damage at UFC 117 than any of his other previous UFC fights. Anderson Silva is still a great fighter, but he was proven to be beatable at UFC 117.
Vitor Belfort will try to make Anderson Silva taste defeat for the first time in the UFC at UFC 126. Vitor Belfort comes into the fight on a five fight winning streak. He is a large UFC fighter who dropped down to the Middleweight division four fights ago to get a matchup with Anderson Silva. Vitor Belfort holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a black belt in Judo and a blue belt in Shotokan (a type of Karate). To make matters worse for Anderson Silva, Vitor Belfort is a powerful puncher with a large light-heavyweight body.
Vitor Belfort will try to punish Anderson Silva for all five rounds of their UFC 126 Middleweight Title bout. He will try to pressure Anderson Silva and eventually knock him out. Anderson Silva will try to use his speed and power to keep Vitor Belfort at bay and eventually submit or knock out Belfort. Both fighters are two of the best fighters in the UFC. Both fighters have talent and power. Both fighters want the UFC Middleweight Championship belt around their waists.
Anderson Silva will have to answer some questions coming into UFC 126. Is his injuries completely healed? Is he is fighting shape and/or his best fighting shape? Does Anderson Silva feel any ill affects from his last fight with Chael Sonnen at UFC 117? Does he still have it? Most fight fans realize once you taste that kind of punishment in a fight it sticks in your mind. It makes a fighter wonder if he still has it. It makes UFC fight fans wonder if Anderson Silva still has it. If he does, this fight between Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort could be the fight of the year.
UFC 126 will be an incredible fight card. I will preview the rest of the fights in the near future. There are five or six other fights at UFC 126 that could contend for fight of the night. The Paul Kelly vs. Donald Cerrone Preliminary fight really should not be a prelim, but is because the rest of the UFC 126 fight card is filled with incredible fights. Don’t miss UFC 126, this is the first time Anderson Silva has fought since last August and Vitor Belfort wants to take his Middleweight belt away from him. Tune in on February 5th at 10 PM Eastern to see the action. There is no information about the preliminary fights airing on Spike TV yet. Don’t miss UFC 126, it will be an incredible show on PPV or at your local sports bar.
