Viktor Troicki back with a bang

Viktor Troicki has returned to professional tennis after serving a controversial ban, which saw him out of the game for a year. Troicki is playing in the Gstaad Open and has showed little signs of rustiness, as he defeated 8th seeded Dominic Thiem in the first round and backed it up with an impressive win over Andrey Golubev in the second round. Troicki was ranked inside the top 20 and was showing great consistency with his level of play, but his momentum would be cut as he would receive a ban due to failing to take a blood test. Troicki would appeal his ban sentence, but nothing would come out of it, which meant Troicki had to miss a whole year on tour. The Gstaad Open is Troicki's first tournament back and he seems to be playing some good ball early on. At the moment Troicki's ranking is non existent, but if he can continue his winning ways, he can make a push to break into the top 50. Troicki is a great player, who I'm sure everyone is happy to see back on the tour and playing well.

Troicki is a talented player. First saw him during a Davis Cup match against India.
