New Wikileaks reports could jeopardize national security of the U. S.

Wikileaks Releases New Critical Information

According to a news release by France 24, a news organization, Wikileaks which has released volumes of information regarding diplomatic dealings between the United States and other countries which have proved to be embarrassing to the United States, has released much more damaging information which may impact U. S.
national security.

A new diplomatic cable has been released by the Wikileaks organization which lists key infrastructure uniuts around the orld which would critically impact the United Startes if they were to be destroyed by a terrorist attack. Wikileaks has divulged a secret list of key infrastructure sites around the world that the U. S. believes could pose a critical danger and a threat to its security if attacked.

This release reportedly threatens to be the most explosive yet out of many divulged by the whistle-blowing website that has provided embarrassment to Washington and caused anger around the world.

According to information obtained, the documents include a February 2009 cable from the State Department asking overseas U. S. missions to list infrastructure and key resources around the globe "whose loss could critically impact the public health, economic security, national and homeland security of the United States."

The document lists undersea cables, key communcations systems, ports, mineral resources and firms of strategic importance in countries ranging from Austria to New Zealand. One item reportedly mentions smallpox vaccines in Denmark. The request according to the diplomatic cable was aimed at updating a list of critical infrastructure and key resources so as to "prevent, deter, neutralize or mitigate the effects of deliberate efforts by terrorists to destroy, incapacitate or exploit them."

A former British Defense and Foreign Secretary, Malcolm Rifkind reportedly said in the London Times that " this is futher evidence that they (Wikileaks) have been generally irresponsible, bordering on criminal." "This," he continued, "is the kind of information terrorists are interesed in knowing."

Scotland Yard has reportedly obtained an arrest warrant for Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks on unrelated charges of sexual assault in Sweden by two women against Mr. Assange. According to news reports there are authorities from 180 countries who are looking for Mr. Assange to question him. Based on news reports Mr. Assange claims that he is being unjustly persecuted. A meeting has been announced
which is reportedly going to take place between Mr. Assange and Scotland Yard. No word as to whether Mr. Assange will be arrested.

The United States government is conducting its own investigartion regarding the leaking of thousands of pages of classified documents by Wikileaks based on reporting.

hmm tough to think on this one, in may ways I feel this site is valued, it would be hypocritical to be against it just because the info is based from my home country.
I think exposing government wrongs is EXCELLENT, but other things not so good

I agree totally. Releasing the list of
facilities, like he did today, was
highly irresponible, and it wont just compromise
the security of The U.S, as those places are scattered all over the world.
But you must admit that Secretary of State Clinton ordering diplomats to spy on their counterparts in the United Nations is a shame
that should be exposed.

..Hi chris, That is so unprofessional and wrong. I understand that Secretary Rice did the same thing. Unbelievable, who will trust the State Dept. now?

Where does being irresponsible begin? If you do embarrassing things you'll always get embarrassed. Don't blame those that show how embarrassing you are. Stop being embarrassing and you won't be embarrassed. Terrorists, who are terrorists? It seems like one man's meat is another man's poison to me! (your freedom fighter is a terrorist to the other!" Think of Mandela! He was once labelled a terrorist! Security, everybody needs to be safe and secure! Everybody!

..Hi din, All the chicken crap stuff about people saying things about each other and being made public I have no problem with. They should know to keep their tongues. But releasing strategic compromising information is another story. That's dangerous ground. Also the U. S. should have had better security for their systems. Thanks for your comment. Take care.

Hi Mountainside!
If it wasn't raining on the mountainside, I believe I'd try to slip through your defenses since I know your weaknesses now. Since it's slippery, I'm tongue-tied and wary coz nothing is stopping you from hurting me! Let's all live in peace and forget about harming and hurting each other! Come read "If Men Were Kind"

..Hi again din, "o) It's cold here but not raining. I don't try to hurt people, I love to discuss things. Still can't buy
exposing critical sites and such to enemies, somebody could die as a result.
Take care.

I am with Mark on this one, I have such mixed emotions.
I have promised myself I would not watch news until after the first of the year but, this story is making me break my promise.
I have to do some more research then I will get back to you.
Where was it stated that Dr. Rice also did this, I am curious.
If she did, that is wrong but, it should not take the heat off of what Sec of State Clinton has done.
Thank you for sharing.:)

..Hi Denise, Sorry
I can't give you back up for Secretary Rice, but they say that's here it started and continued with Mrs. Clinton.
The things I say were read somewhere. Good luck, thanks for your comment.
